Tamat was born as a result of the second edition of the Un|controlled Gestures open call, a regional project that explores the potential of body language in envisioning new futures. Through this initiative, a group of talented young choreographers from Arabic-speaking countries were selected. Aïda Jamal was one of them.

TAMAT's second residency was held at HAU Hebbel am Ufer in Berlin, in partnership with Un/controlled Gestures curated by Nedjma Hadj Benchelabi and Shaymaa Shoukry. Adrien Prenant provided assistance with music editing.

Aïda's current project is still in progress, and she is currently showcasing the initial phase of her research at the Primavera theatre in Lavapies, Madrid.
