Eyes Versions – Interactive performance

«Is anyone taking the time to set aside moments for engaging in a neutral gaze, where there’s nowhere to go but within yourself?» Marina Abramović

How do you experience it when someone gazes into your eyes, their gaze meeting yours? Have you ever experienced the direct gaze of another person locked onto your own? What emotions arise when you engage in eye contact with someone? Do you perceive any distinction between simply looking and intense staring?

If you’d like answers to these questions or perhaps others, Tahssis invites you to take part in their interactive performance, “Eyes Versions,” inspired by Marina Abramović’s “The Artist is Present.”

The rules are simple: Sit facing one of the performers when a chair becomes available. As you gaze into each other’s eyes, try not to blink. Each blink is a temporary disconnection. Focus on the connection between you for as long as you wish. The duration is entirely up to you.

Once you enter the designated space, you commit to the exercise; touching or speaking to the performers is prohibited. If a performer stands up, it signifies the end of your interaction.
